Dear Parents

I am writing to inform you that today the school was issued a directive to close its operations from Friday 18th September until Saturday October 3rd.

No doubt you have heard the many rumours and press reports that have circulated about school closures. We too had heard these, but like a number of other international schools, have waited for an official written directive from the appropriate Government ministry.

In receiving this directive we were given assurances that schools will only be closed until 3rd October and not any longer than this date.

With the permission of the authorities, the school will be open tomorrow as we need to spend the day with students to prepare them for the period of the closure. Teachers in the primary school, for example, will be sending home a Lesson Pack; secondary teachers will be ensuring that students have the correct textbooks to take home and understand the work that has been set; while the teachers in the Dutch stream will be discussing their plans with the students.

Teachers will be in direct communication with students through emails and virtual learning environments from Sunday 27th September to Thursday 1st October in order to minimise the impact to their learning.

I wish to thank you for your support in these arrangements.
